Louder Than Guns

The “Louder Than Guns” campaign and program garnered national headlines and put youth in the spotlight and at the forefront of the movement.

Americans are 25x more likely to be killed by guns than citizens of any other developed nation. As of June 2022, we’ve already had over 250 mass shootings this year. Gun violence is now the #1 cause of death amongst US children and teens.

We have to change this unacceptable reality before it changes us.

The Louder Than Guns movement is a rallying cry. By inspiring actions large and small, our aim was to reduce gun violence in L.A. and the nation, and help drive real gun reform. California has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation and by partnering with leading gun organizations and youth, our voice was heard to help lead to further gun reform bills in the state. This campaign also sought to not only highlight tragic mass shootings, but also the everyday gun violence that plagues our communities far too often, making gun violence the #1 killer of  youth in America.

While the fake gun insurance seen in the campaign was not real, the violence is. This was meant to be a wake-up call for America to put in place more common sense gun laws to save lives. Partnering with David Hogg/March for our Lives, The Brady Campaign, Giffords, Everytown for Gun Safety, GRYD (Gang Reduction and Youth Development), and diverse high school students from across the LA Metropolitan area, “Louder than Guns” was born to serve as a wake-up call for America.
